A Life-Changing Work Trip

I think we can all agree that traveling for work isn’t always as much of an enjoyable experience as some people think it is. From the “delicious” airport cuisine to the dirty hotel windows that provide us with the only views of the city we’re visiting, it’s hard to leave the experience with any kind of positive feeling. I’m one of those lucky few who has had that elusive chance.

IMG_3101I work for an amazing nonprofit called El Hogar. We operate campuses in Honduras that provide 250 boys and girls with a home, an education, and the safety they need to thrive. Each year, I travel to El Hogar for the various graduation ceremonies that occur in November – the school calendar in Honduras runs from February through November. These experiences are life-changing, and provide me with the opportunity to meet our amazing students and their families, sit down with them for a meal, and to get a firsthand view of the work our organization is doing each day.

It’s great to join together with them to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates, and to capture these events as part of El Hogar’s blog. Below, you’ll find the posts for 2017’s graduation ceremonies. Please take some time to read through them:
